Hugs for Healing was inspired around a friend's teenage son. In 2023, he had a brain mass that was surgically removed after he suddenly lost vision in his right eye. While he regained his vision, he continues to experience health issues that multiple doctors cannot diagnose. Due to this, he has to spend multiple days in the hospital. During a particular stay in early 2024, Amy did 24/7 Reiki Energy Healing on both the patient and each of his family members. Amy's son, Nick is close friends with their oldest son and he and Amy were chatting off and on during this time and wondering, "What else can we do to help? What if we could help others in similar situations? How could this be done in order to help many people at once? How can we make a difference? How can we  bring people together in addition to the healing?" Amy had been doing  one-on-one energy healing for people and their families for a while and felt there had to be a way to extend the net of healing to a larger scale of those in need. Hugs for Healing was born. Amy created the healing modalities for the blankets and programs the healing energies to never diminish. There is no space and time in energy; we are all connected and there are no limits. She makes each blanket by hand with intention, love, compassion, hope and healing.
